Every book convention must have authors. There’s no question about it and I am working hard to ensure that we not only have a ton of fun people to hang out with, but there’s a wide range of genre talent as well. I know many readers tend to stick with their preferred genres, and there’s nothing wrong with that; but you never know what you’ll find, what you’ll like, until you take a leap of faith.
That is one of my goals for Rust City. To introduce a reader to someone new, a genre they may not have tried. There’s a reason auctions are so popular – you never know what treasures you’ll find unless you start looking.
To that end, I have 2 more fabulous authors to introduce that are going to be joining these 4 fantastic ladies and I at Rust City 2016! Make sure you keep an eye here (or at Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and/or Tumblr) as more authors are announced! I’m still sending out invites to various authors, from all genres, so if there’s someone you would like to see at Rust City – let me know!
The story goes like this: While on pregnancy bed rest, Lauren Dane had plenty of down time so her husband took her comments about “giving that writing thing a serious go” to heart and brought home a secondhand laptop. She wrote her first book on it before it gave up the ghost. Even better, she sold that book and never looked back.
Today Lauren is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over sixty novels and novellas across several genres.
I’m the author of the four book Urban Paranormal Romance series, The Gospels of Cal’eia. The story entails a somewhat heretical modern day view following the exploits of the Daughter of Lucifer and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. It’s LGBTQ friendly/supportive and I identify as being part of that community. I’m a strong advocate of those coping with such issues as bi-polarity, suicidal depression, and anxiety, which are also addressed in the series.
I have a fine arts degree in sculpture from SUNY Buffalo, an art teaching degree from Buffalo state college, and I minored in art history and religious studies. I’m an ordained reverend and have performed multiple weddings for non-and mixed religious peoples, same sex and straight couples, and love crafting unique ceremonies for each.
I spent a year in Ghana, West Africa, in the Peace Corps teaching art in a school for the deaf, and have traveled to both Europe and the Middle East. Though I currently live in Charlotte, NC, I grew up in NY on Long Island, my husband is from MI, and we lived in Madison Heights for five years.
I’m a member of Broad Universe and the WNBA. I’ll happily argue Dr. Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battle Star Galactica , and anything Joss Whedon had worked on for hours on end. I’m an author (though I still can’t say that with a straight face), an artist, a mother, a wife, a reverend, a geek, a zoo keeper, a lover of cake, and an alto willing to sing with anyone.
I’m currently working on a Paranormal romance series about Selkies.
