Rust City would like to offer artists of all talents and purveyors of bookish/geekish delights a space to showcase their treasures. Whether you’re a seller, an artist, a fan organization, or part of the book community, we would love to have you participate during #RustCity16.
Vendors will be in charge of their own hours so they can participate throughout the event if they wish. However, I am asking all vendors to be available at their tables during the book signing on August 13th. This will be open to the public, so not only will they be exposed to all registered attendees, but to those readers who will only be there for a short time.
Vendors will be in an area adjacent to Swag Alley, and have exposure/visibility during the public book signing. However where within the event space is still to be determined.
I like the idea of having the vendors in a room, so we can secure their inventory by locking it at night; however this won’t guarantee visibility. For attendees, yes most will wonder in at some point; but for those attending just the public book signing, there’s no guarantee the vendors will be seen as readers may skip the vendor room.
For the signing, I really want to ensure the vendors are visible, which is why I’m leaning towards having the tables set up in the hallway outside the breakout rooms and signing area. This would guarantee readers would see them when they show up for the signing, but it does make it a little more difficult to secure the tables as we would need to move them into a breakout room in order to lock them up at night.
A lot of this will depend on the final registration numbers (what the event space ends up being) and the vendor applicants (whether they have large inventories and/or require a lot of space). All of this will be decided later this spring/early summer, once I know which vendors will be joining us.
Costs and Provisions:
- Space is limited, so not all applicants may be granted space.
- Table prices are $100 for the first table (this includes one badge).
- Additional tables are $50. Limit of 4 tables.
- Only 1 badge is included with the purchase of the first table.
- Additional badges may be purchased at the current registration price.
- No refunds/transfers or exchanges after acceptance and purchase.
- Applications are due by April 1, 2016.
