Every book convention must have authors. There’s no question about it and I am working hard to ensure that we not only have a ton of fun people to hang out with, but there’s a wide range of genre talent as well. I know many readers tend to stick with their preferred genres, and there’s nothing wrong with that; but you never know what you’ll find, what you’ll like, until you take a leap of faith.
With that in mind, let me introduce you to three more fabulous authors who will be taking the plunge with me and coming to Rust City 2017! Make sure you keep an eye out as more authors are announced!
Nancy Northcott’s childhood ambition was to grow up and become Wonder Woman. Around fourth grade, she realized it was too late to acquire Amazon genes, but she still loved comic books, science fiction, fantasy, history, and romance.
Nancy has taught a college course on science fiction, fantasy, and society. She has also given presentations on the Wars of the Roses and Richard III to university classes studying Shakespeare’s play about that king. A sucker for fast action and wrenching emotion, Nancy combines the magic, romance and high stakes she loves in the books she writes.
Reviewers have described her books as melding fantasy, romance, and suspense. Library Journal gave her debut novel, Renegade, a starred review, calling it “genre fiction at its best.
Caren Crane grew up in Nashville, TN, and as a result does not care for country music. However, she cares a great deal about family, friends and men in boots. She blames her love of reading on a childhood devoid of TV and heavy on amusing oneself. Reading books was a lot more fun than playing with Barbies and playing “library” was far superior to playing “school.” When she discovered romance novels, the librarians at her local branch were horrified but Caren was delighted.
I have been a fan of sci-fi/fantasy as long as I can remember. I really started writing when I was in the 6th grade and my teacher was going over all the different genres. We were assigned the task to write our own story for each over the school year and that’s when I really first started making my own books with characters and plot lines.
I am currently working a part time job. I have a BFA in Theater Acting and a minor in English. My goal is to become a film actor and a best selling author. I live in a small town in Michigan and I like gaming, reading, drawing, and acting.
