What is a con without a fabulous lineup of panels and activities with equally fabulous authors, right?!
I’m doing a few things differently this year, so there are some definite changes with the schedule from last year. One of those changes is the timing for the Meet & Greets. Instead of having 3 of them at the same time, each one will have their own time slot. So everyone will be able to hit up each one if they desire. This also means the day goes a little longer than last year, but I’m hoping the fun atmosphere of the meet & greets will be worth it.
Want a peek at a couple of them?
- Take a walk down HISTORY LOVER’S LANE with Rue Allyn, Samantha Grace, Susana Ellis, Anne Lawson, and Caroline Warfield for some old-fashioned fun and games. Meet new friends and play for a chance to win some cool prizes, including the romance reader’s favorite prize—books!
- Bring your spookiest stories, freakiest costumes, and an appetite for s’mores as Sara Dobie Bauer, Roselynn Cannes, Mackenzie Flohr, Evan D. Heuker, and Suzanne Sabol do their best to entertain, amuse … and maybe make you scream to see if you’re SCARED OF THE DARK!
- Meet and greet with Jane Charles, Caren Crane, Susan Gee Heino, Donna MacMeans, Nancy Northcott, Susan Sey, and Ava Stone while you play at their CARNIVAL OF ROMANCE. Stay until the end for a grand prize drawing for a Kindle Fire!
Another fun addition to the lineup are the GAMES & BOOKISH SHENANIGANS.
Time for a breather! Various card & board games will be available for attendees to play, as well as coloring sheets to color and scrapbooking materials for those looking to immortalize their swag. Some of the games available are: Doctor Who Clue, Fantasy-opoly, One Night Ultimate Werewolf & One Night Ultimate Vampire, Jenga, Exploding Kittens, Cards Against Humanity, Midnight Taboo, Light & Dark, Little Dungeon, Firefly Shiny Dice, Draw What?!, King of Tokyo, and more.
There will actually be 3 different Games & Bookish Shenanigans sessions – one each day. I added these to give everyone the option of doing something a little more low key but still within the convention space. This will also give everyone a chance to hang out with the #RustCity17 authors outside the structure of a panel (or meet & greet).
I’m still looking for other games to bring, so if you have a suggestion, shout it out! *grin* I’m trying to get my hands on a copy of Slash: Romance without boundaries, but I’m having trouble finding a copy. So that may or may not be there as well.
I think that’s all I’m going to give away for now. If you want to see the full schedule (with descriptions!), then click here (or the big text above).
